The Results

On 1st September, we started on our ‘A Wonderful Life’ slimming challenge, as some may know if you’ve been following us.  We wanted to show our confidence in this range of products by showing our progress as we go along (with daily updates of our food!), and not with just ‘Before’ and ‘After’ photos.  Our aim was to let you know that AWL is not about hunger and deprivation.  (Scroll down to see our journey)

Well, we weighed ourselves every Saturday and here are the results :

*  Both of us note that though our weight do not seem to be dropping as fast, we do find that our clothes are getting looser.  We’ve asked and it seems that our body has reached a momentum in burning the fats, and thus we’re burning and losing pure fats now, hence the loose clothings.  Hurray!

**  Gini has achieved her ideal weight and will be ending her challenge.  All she needs to do now is to take the drinks periodically to maintain.  Isn’t it a wonderful life? :D

Whatever it is, a picture tells a thousand words, so here’s our before and after photos.

Jaden - Now

Gini - After

We purposely wore the same clothes and pants that we wore, except that Jaden could no longer wear the same pants hehehe

Note how much smaller our chins and neckline are, not to mention our tummies too.

All these by just consuming a packet of S’Mocha in the morning and a packet of Beauty Solution in the evening.

That’s just how simple it is.

gubibaby is honoured to be the appointed agent for the ‘A Wonderful Life’ series of slimming and health and beauty products.  A Wonderful Life (AWL) is the brainchild of a young Malaysian man, who together with his chemist sister, have the ultimate aim of providing quality products that will delight consumers as well as  improving their welfare, their environment and lifestyles.

The thing is there has already been many testmonies from friends and the fact that we’re so confident of this range of products that we invite you as we begin our journey to ‘A Wonderful Life’.  We have never consumed AWL’s range of products and welcome you to journey with us as we try them out.  Our aim is not to show you our before and after pictures, rather to let you participate in our slimming journey.  We also want you to know that AWL is not about hunger and deprivation.

To know more about AWL, please click here.

Starting today, September 1st 2010, Jaden (the male part of gubibaby) will take his first AWL product, S’Mocha Plus and Beauty Solution with the sole intention of losing weight.  Jaden now weighs 83kg, with a 104cm (41″) waistline, pictures below and since he’s mostly been on the tubby side, he doesn’t know what’s his ideal weight.  He’ll know when to stop when his better half says so  :P

Jaden @ 83kg

Gini on the other hand, knows that at her prime, her weight was around 62kg, thereabouts.  Being 66kg now, 4kg shouldn’t be all that hard but for anyone who’s tried losing some weight, the last few kgs are always the most stubborn.  Gini will have to start her S’Mocha Plus and Beauty Solution later as she’s now on medication for some imflammation, however once she’s finished her course, there’ll be no stopping her.

Gini @ 66kg

Ok we’re both very shy people, so that’s why for the first time you’re seeing our faces on this website.  So please don’t reproduce our pics ya.

The ideology is we’ll try to give daily updates of the meals we had and how we feel (if any), however, having full time jobs on top of this online thing, plus a spirited demanding 3 year old, our ‘daily’ might be slightly late.  So please do bear with us, we’ll try our best.  Also, since we are no Oprah Winfrey, there’ll be no rolling cameras following our every move (or mouthful), so please do take our word for it.  We will weigh ourselves every Saturday with the same scale and update our progress accordingly.

As such, do come back to this space often to catch our updates (this is going to be a very very long post)

Some of you may be wondering how come we’ve stopped posting pictures of our food since Day 11.  Hehehee  the thing is we keep forgetting to take pictures.  I mean when you’re hungry and then when the scrumptious food comes, the first thing you’ll reach for is your fork and spoon or chopsticks, not your phone to capture a picture.

I think by now, everyone already has a good idea that AWL is not about meal replacements or hunger.  So we’ll stop with reporting our meals.  However, we’ll continue with our results, as such, do continue with us on our slimming (and health) journey with AWL.

11.09.2010 (Day 11)

Day 11

Another lazy brunch with my parents, beef ball noodle in Taman Sri Tebrau.  And for dinner, my Mom cooked smooth and delicious chicken porridge.  Lukas is a very fussy eater but this porridge, he really polished off a big bowl.  The photo that you see is actually the last bowl….. however as usual, Jaden and I finished it.  We don’t like to waste food, you see  :P

10.09.2010 (Day 10)

Day 10

Ah…. the first day of the long weekend, so we brought Lukas for his favourite all time breakfast, McD.  Sausage McMuffins and Egg for both of us and Pancakes for Lukas, which means that Jaden and I ate most of them :P   There were 2 hotcakes some where there and nice ice cold Milo too.

Dinner was really a Hari Raya affair, Rendang daging, Ayam masak merah and fried fish (more for Lukas actually).  We really do enjoy Malay food.  Selamat Hari Raya, everyone.

09.09.2010 (Day 9)

Day 9

Since this is going to be a long post, I’ll just KISS, keep it sweet and simple.  My fave breakfast again and the Cantonese hor fun for lunch.  Jaden had nasi beriani at this new stall in Permas Jaya, which by the way according to him is pretty good, so expect to see more of it in the coming days.

Dinner was again a late affair as I had to work late :(   I tarpau  fried rice for both of us, which we took at about 10:30pm or so.  Sigh.

08.09.2010 (Day 8)

Day 8

This was Jaden’s lunch, curry mee.  As for mine, hehee I was a bit too embarassed to take a photo because….. I had chicken rice again.  It wasn’t entirely out of choice actually, I had to stay in the office during lunch to finish up something and so the easiest thing to ask anyone to tarpau is chicken rice.  So……

As for dinner, we didn’t take a picture either.  We had Mom’s home cooked food again and it was a simple meal – fish, vege and some stewed meat.  More updates tomorrow!

07.09.2010 (Day 7)

Day 7

Ahhhh…… Gini’s favourite breakfast, a glass of cold fresh milk and a piece of Gardenia Multi Grain Wheat bread.  I started having this many months ago in an attempt to lose weight.  Well, the weight didn’t drop but I was truly hooked on it.  I wondered if I’ll get sick of it but it’s been like 6 or 7 months and I still look forward to it.

For lunch, I had chicken rice with a pc of tofu and an egg, Jaden had some scrumptious stewed meat with ginger and lots of gravy.  Dinner was a sad affair, I had to work late and reached home close to 11pm.  Sweet Dearie hubby had insisted on waiting for me for dinner so we had our dinner of blanced vege with oyster sauce, stewed meat with salted fish and lots of ginger and some cencaluk.  I guess by now you would know that we are a family of spicy food lovers :)

06.09.2010 (Day 6)

Day 6

Today both us didn’t get to take breakfast.  Gini was rushing to go into Singapore for a meeting.  However, she did manage to get a nice lunch of Yong Tahu (again?!?) hehee.  Jaden had a nice plate of fried bee hoon.

For dinner, Mom cooked, so we had steamed egg, stewed salted vege, leftovers bak kut teh from yesterday and one of my favourites, chicken in oyster sauce and button mushroom.  Nice!

05.09.2010 (Day 5)

Day 5

Hehehee  sorry folks, again we forgot to take a picture of our dinner…. but we’ll come to that later.

Anyway the above is our Sunday brunch.  Huge bowl of Yong Tahu isn’t it?  However, don’t worry, it wasn’t just for the 2 of us hahahaa, we had brunch with my parents as well.  So the bowl is actually for 4 of us, Lukas don’t count as he only takes about 2 or 3 fishballs.  Jaden had his bee hoon laksa while I had the dry ‘mee tai mak’.

About dinner, maybe it’s just as well that we forgot to take the photo, in sensitivity to others.  We had home cooked bak kut teh, with steamed tofu and lots and lots of ‘yau char kueh’.  And know that when my Mom cooks, she really cooks in terms of portion….. that is why Jaden and I are the sizes we are today  :(

04.09.2010 (Day 4)

Day 4

Gini is now officially on S’Mocha Plus (strictly 1 pack per day only)  in the morning and Beauty Solution (on alternate days) in the evening.  The Mocha drink is sweeter than I thought it would be but it really does taste good, creamy and strong.  However, the best thing about it is that it really does curb the appettite.  Hurray!

Anyway, our brunch today.  What we usually do is we tarpau 2 boxes of chicken/charsiew rice, give half a packet to DS Lukas and Jaden will sapu the rest.  For me, I had my fave prawn noodle.  I’ve been having this prawn noodles for years and at one point, had it every weekend.  So the Auntie already know what I want, extra noodle, extra chilli and extra soup.  Note that the soup bowl is the big one.  Usually we finish everything, soup and all and feel very satiated.  However today, both of us were struggling to finish all the food.  Guess that in days to come, we’ll be saving quite a bit of money on food  :)

As for dinner, hehehee  again we forgot to take a picture.  Anyway, my Mom cooked, so we had fried fish with cencaluk, stir fried vegetables and a soup.  Simple home cooked food.  Coincidently, my Mom’s really a very good cook.  Will try to remember to take photos next time.

03.09.2010 (Day 3)

Day 3

Dry mee for lunch, see he really can this many many times a week.  Ok for dinner, we must confess that the picture is not of the actual meal that we had.  We went to a very nice cafe which was having a set dinner promotion where, with every main dish you ordered, there will be free mushroom soup, ice lemon tea and a mini dessert.  The thing is we were so ravenous that we forgot to take pictures, hence what you see above are random pictures that we plucked off the web.  However, rest assured that they’re very similiar  :)

Jaden had the mixed chicken and fish grill.  Surprisingly for that price, the portion was very adequate, so much so that he had some problems finishing it.  And that doesn’t happen very often, trust me.

Gini is already off her medication and is gearing to start the Mocha tomorrow.  Yippee!!  Check in later to see what goes on.

02.09.2010 (Day 2)

Day 2

Jaden has been skipping his breakfast as our DS Lukas has been very grouchy and uncooperative recently in the morning.  So Jaden has been making up during lunch @_@   A huge plate of nasi goreng kampung and a bun with tea a short while later.

I had to work late and so Jaden had a boyfriend’s dinner with his friends, nasi lemak (which coincidently was what I had for dinner too).  Then upon arriving home at about 10+pm, surprise surprise!  25 whole sticks of satay from this gerai in Taman Sri Tebrau, JB which has the best satay in town, waiting for me.  I mentioned to dear hubby about 2 weeks back that I’ve been craving for this satay but just that town is too far away to go just for some satay.  Thanks Dear.  Yummy!  The satay is still so good after so many years.

01.09.2010 (Day 1)

Dday 1

As mentioned, Gini will start her S’Mocha Plus later and as such, for the next few days, it’ll only be Jaden’s meals you’ll be seeing here.

Dry bee hoon for lunch (he can have this every day, if you let him).  As for dinner, heheee again I went overboard with the tarpau-ing.  2 mee siam, 1 with beef rendang and another with fried fish, sambal kerang, 2 ayam percik, 1 ayam madu and 1 beef daging soup.  In case you’re wondering, it’s only for the 2 of us.  Jaden does always say, never let a hungry woman go tarpau.  And yes, we did finish everything!

.

We are proud to bring you another quality brand under our ‘Indulgence’ category, the place in our website for those stuff which are not necessarily necessary to parents but would be nice to have, just to pamper ourselves.
